Garbage & Recycling

Pelican Cove is in the City of Charleston and receives garbage collection service once weekly. A standardized container is provided; it is located on the north end of building 33.

Garbage containers should be placed at the curb no earlier than 6:00 PM the day before scheduled pick-up and removed as soon as possible after pickup, but no later than 6:00 PM on the scheduled pickup days.

Pelican Cove is served by Charleston County Environmental Management for recycling services. A blue recycling roll cart is provided; it is located on the north end of building 33.

Restrictions

Residents of Pelican Cove are governed by covenants and restrictions of the Pelican Cove Property Owners Association.

  • Excessive noise, smoke or offensive odor is not permitted.
  • Hanging garments, towels, rugs or similar objects from windows or railings is prohibited.
  • The posting of advertisements (including political) must be pre-approved.
  • Outside radio, internet or television antennas must be pre-approved.

Parking

Two (2) spaces are allotted per unit.

  • Parking on non-paved areas is prohibited, and is subject to towing.
  • Guests are asked to park in overflow areas, such as spaces between Buildings 27 and 29, and to the left of Building 33.
  • No boats or trailers of any type may be kept on site.

 

Pets

No pets, whether the Tenant’s or not, are permitted anywhere on the property, even temporarily, unless the Landlord has provided authorization in writing.  If authorization is given, Tenant may have to pay a non-refundable pet fee or increased security deposit amount.

  • Pelican Cove and the City of Charleston require that pets be on a leash at all times.
  • Pet waste is to be picked up immediately and disposed of in garbage container.
  • No more than two (2) pets are permitted.
  • Fines of $25 per day will be issued for any Resident not following these rules.

Location

Pelican Cove is centrally located on James Island in Charleston, South Carolina. Unit 33C sits near the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, but it’s only 6 miles to Folly Beach or Marion Square in downtown Charleston.

The community is served by Charleston County School District – Harborview Elementary, Camp Road Middle School, and James Island Charter High School. Electoral Districts are U.S. Congressional District 1, S.C. Senate District 41 and S.C. House District 115.
